From The Desk Of The Vice-President...

It has been an exciting, difficult, stressful and enjoyable year. As we near our annual convention all of your directors are working diligently to ensure that this year’s convention is the best yet. We are looking forward to the entire board of directors from the Wild Sheep Foundation joining us. Our live auction items are already at a record amount and our generous donors continue to call us with further donations for your convention. We are still in need of quality items for the silent auction tables, for those of you with such items that you wish to donate please contact any director on your board. We have a number of new exciting guest speakers and workshops lined up for our members as well.
This year we have changed the format to one ticket price for the entire weekend. The cost per ticket this year is now $120.00 per person ($80.00 for under 18), each person attending must be directly related to a Wild Sheep Society member. WHY have we done this, below is the answer:

a) Convention centre: $25,700
b) Additional costs to run our convention:$17,400. This includes:
auctioneer, AV & lighting, security, travel expenses, auction booklet, registration.

TOTAL weekend cost: $43,100 Divide by 360 paying tickets = $119.72

It is due to the costs that we have chosen to go to a higher weekend price and remove the dinner only price, in the past two years, money that could of gone directly to our Wild Sheep has instead subsidized all of us for the weekend.... The Wild Sheep of BC deserve better and as a result your directors have implemented this change. In addition to this our membership will see higher quality items available at our convention, more live mounts as well as a dance to be held after the live auction. The dance will have Lee Dinwoodie performing until 1 am in the theatre room.

If you have any questions regarding our pricing structure please contact Jim Glaicar @ 250 -963-8605 or email at jtglaicar@bcgroup.net

 Attention WSSBC Members

We would like to hear from you! In an effort to reduce costs we are proposing to offer 2 of the 4 "Wild Sheep Forever" magazine issues in an electronic format such as email.  This would substantially reduce our publication costs.  Please send us your comments via email or call any WSSBC Director.
