Field Trip

Field Trip Description

The NWSGC 2012 Symposium field trip will involve a bus tour into two California bighorn sheep ranges (South Thompson River and Kamloops Lake), where there will be opportunities to view sheep at close range, including mature rams. Throughout the tour there will be discussions on herd population trends and management initiatives, habitat management programs, human conflict mitigation, enhancement projects, and the Tk’emlups Indian Band land owner incentive pilot project. The tour will start in the South Thompson area, travelling west through the Sun Rivers Development, and into the Kamloops Lake and Dewdrop area, finishing with an on-site BBQ.
